What you can and cannot sell on Merry Go Market.

What You Can Sell

Merry Go Market is a marketplace for gently used baby and children's items. We welcome listings for:

  • Clothing in good condition (all sizes from premie to kids)
  • Toys, books, and educational materials
  • Strollers, carriers, and baby gear (not under recall)
  • Nursery furniture and decor (meeting current safety standards)
  • Feeding accessories (bottles, plates, utensils — not nipples or teethers)
  • Diaper bags, changing pads, and nursery organizers
  • Outdoor play equipment in good working condition

All items must be accurately described, in the stated condition, and not subject to any active safety recalls.

Automated Safety Review

Every listing is automatically reviewed by our AI safety system before it goes live. This helps us keep prohibited and recalled items off the platform. If your listing is flagged, you'll see a message explaining why. You can revise your listing and try again.

Prohibited Items

These items are federally recalled, banned, or illegal to resell under U.S. law. They cannot be listed on Merry Go Market.

Sleep Products

  • Fisher-Price Rock 'n Play Sleeper (all models)
  • Kids2 Rocking Sleepers (all models)
  • All inclined infant sleepers of any brand
  • Padded crib bumpers (all brands — banned under Safe Sleep for Babies Act)
  • Any crib, bassinet, or sleep product manufactured before 2011
  • Drop-side cribs (all brands)
  • Travel bassinets not meeting current CPSC mandatory standards
  • Weighted infant sleep products (weighted swaddles, weighted blankets for infants)

Bath Products

  • Baby bath seats (any brand with open recall — check cpsc.gov before listing)
  • Infant bath rings (recalled models)

Furniture & Gear

  • Portable bed rails (recalled models)
  • High chairs sold without an attached restraint/crotch strap system
  • Infant walkers (recalled models — check cpsc.gov before listing)
  • Tip-over furniture or anti-tip kits under active recall

Toys & Accessories

  • Items testing positive for lead or phthalates above federal limits
  • Soother/pacifier clips with small parts or sharp components
  • Sensory swings with looping fabric or strangulation risk

Other

  • Any item currently under an active CPSC recall (check cpsc.gov/recalls before listing)

Also Not Allowed

These items are not necessarily recalled but carry safety, hygiene, or liability risks we are not able to support.

Safety-Critical Gear

  • Car seats (any brand, any age — structural integrity cannot be verified secondhand)
  • Bike helmets, sports helmets, or infant head protection (invisible impact damage)
  • Infant/child life jackets or flotation devices

Medical & Hygiene Items

  • Breast pumps (open-system pumps are not FDA-approved for secondhand use)
  • Baby formula (any brand, opened or unopened)
  • Medications, vitamins, or supplements of any kind
  • Used bottle nipples, pacifiers, or teethers
  • Nasal aspirators or any item inserted into a child's body

Sleep & Feeding

  • Cribs with missing hardware or unclear manufacture date
  • Any sleep product that cannot be verified against current CPSC standards
  • Baby food, snacks, or any consumable item

Electronics

  • Baby monitors with recalled or unverifiable battery/charging systems
  • Any electronic item that cannot be tested and verified as functional before listing

Recalled-Adjacent Categories

  • Infant bouncers or swings from brands with active or recent recalls (verify before listing)
  • Play yards or pack-n-plays with missing or damaged parts
